When leadership coach and major award winner Marshall Goldsmith describes you as the greatest leader he has ever met, that’s saying something. Frances Hesselbein was one of the last of a generation that included Peter Drucker, a group of influential thought leaders who created much of what we know as great leadership today.
Great description of a special purpose driven leader. Thank you for this introduction to Frances and he love of Drucker's book The Effective Executive. That book is inspiring me to write The Effective Organization based on my own work. I'd love to talk about with you.
simply terrific....i regret not having (personally) met her even more after reading this but found both her writing and her example(s) not just inspiring but thoughtful....i originally discovered her via my own interest/connection to peter drucker (that "5:30" story absolutely spot on...).....forgive me but: those were the days.....
Many of us, of a certain age, learned about Frances from Peter Drucker. I was one and was lucky enough to get to know her and do some work (pro bono) for the Girl Scouts. I was certain that I received more from the work than I delivered, although Frances was very kind in her thanks.
Remembering Frances Hesselbein
Wonderful Rita. Thank you for summarizing her life. I'll be posting about her tomorrow- I knew her well for 36 years. Such an inspiring human being.
